“It is hard to lead a cavalry charge when you think you look funny on a horse.” It is also hard when you think you look great on a horse. Leadership is a choice, not a destiny.
There are different leadership styles: autocratic leadership, charismatic leadership, transformational leadership or event servant leadership.
No matter what type of leadership skills are displayed, one important aspect remains: leadership is assumed and it involves multiple actors. On the one hand, there is the leader and on the other hand are the people that allow him to be their leader.
The times create their leaders, as Michael Hopf says: “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.”
